Smokey Beef and Maple Burger

Serves 1 | Prep Time: 10mins | Cook Time:10 minutes


  • 2 rashers bacon
  • 30 ml maple syrup
  • 1 beef burger
  • 5 g smoked sea salt
  • 1 milk burger bun
  • 40 g Western Star Easy Spread butter
  • 20 g whole egg mayonnaise 20 ml chipotle sauce
  • 30 g cos lettuce
  • 1 slice Mainland Egmont Cheese


  1. Place bacon rashers on baking tray, drizzle with maple syrup and roast at 180°C for 5 minutes.
  2. Season burger patty well with smoked sea salt, grill in a hot pan until golden on each side and cooked through. Leave in the pan and cover burger with Egmontslice and allow to melt.
  3. Top the burger and cheese with the maple roasted bacon.
  4. Split burger buns, evenly spread butter on each half and toast.
  5. Lay out the bun bottom, brush with mayonnaise, add lettuce
  6. Top with burger, cheese, sauce and bacon. Brush lid with chipotle and place on top.
  7. Serve with chilli and cheese steak fries.

Chef’s Tip:
Substitute bun for a gluten free option if desired
